In an interview with Engineer Dariush Mansouri Fard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sepehr Company, Dariush Shanli was mentioned
to report didehbanenergy: And quoted from marznews؛In order to examine the state of the country’s clothing and apparel industry and the effects of the smuggling problem on it, we had an exclusive and sincere conversation with engineer Dariush Mansoori Fard, the chairman of the board of directors.ه Sepehr Dariush Shanli Company We have arranged to read the result together as follows:
Please, as the first question, tell the readers of this media about your resume?
I started selling fibers about 30 years ago and now I have been producing thermofused fibers (non-woven fabrics) for about 15 years.
What products are produced in this industrial unit?
In this industrial unit, we have recently started the industrial production of jackets, and the fiber production factory is also located in the same industrial town. In my opinion, there is no similar production cycle of fibers to jackets in Iran.
Do you produce all the raw materials yourself or part of it?
We buy raw materials for fiber production in the form of pallets from some cities, and in the fiber production factory, they are converted into layers and transferred to this industrial unit in the form of rolls. We used to import some materials from Korea to complete fiber production, but now this import is done from China. Of course, the domestic production of these materials is not economical.
Are you facing any problems due to the sanctions?
It has become very difficult to import raw materials from foreign countries and they don’t give us the necessary permits to import easily, and we have to buy these materials from middlemen.
Of course, buying from intermediaries has its own problems, and on the other hand, the fluctuations of the currency market have recently added to our problems.
Recently, after a lot of running, they agreed to import 15 tons of these materials, and our industrial unit only needs 40 tons of this type of materials per month to stay active.
What unique features do your products have compared to other products on the market?
Finer fibers are used in manufactured products, which have higher density and are more resistant to washing, ironing and steam, and we can safely say that these fibers are the most expensive and best fibers being produced in the country.
Are your products exported to other countries?
no. Because fibers are bulky products and there is no economic justification for export.
What success have you achieved in jacket production to save currency or earn currency?
With cheap labor and low energy costs, all kinds of manufactured jackets can be exported to neighboring countries, especially Russia, Turkey, and the Republic of Azerbaijan at a good price.
What do you expect from the authorities?
In these few years, I had no expectations and so far I have not received any facilities and I have increased the capital with my own efforts, but if we want to advance the work professionally, we need facilities for new investments and job creation and increase in production.
How many people are working in this industrial unit?
Now we have nearly 100 people, but if we don’t have the fluctuations of the dollar and many other problems and this group is supported, we can hire new forces up to about 1000 people.
What other plans do you have for the future?
The expansion of this industrial unit requires the creation of new infrastructures and the recruitment of specialists, unfortunately, the specialists are now concentrated in Tehran, and the factory we have in Safadasht town is about 70 kilometers away from Tehran, and commuting is very difficult for some employees.
Some employees do not have housing, if the government provides land to this company, we can build a town for the employees so that they don’t have to worry about commuting anymore and we can witness their timely attendance at work.
On the other hand, the training of the troops is also very important, as the need for minimum 6-month courses for newly hired is foreseen.
Do you have a plan to make this industrial unit knowledge-based?
Yes. It is one of the programs we are working on.
Does clothing smuggling affect production growth?
The problem of smuggling is not a new issue and it has been almost 25 years that this problem has become a problem for producers and it definitely has a direct impact on production. When the embargo against Iran started, domestic clothing production flourished, but smuggling caused problems for them.
How to eliminate this problem?
There are ways to prevent TV, radio and media, but unfortunately this problem still persists.
How do you evaluate the current state of clothing production?
Currently, the production work in the field of clothing industry is followed in a professional manner and the important issue is the quality of the product that there will be no place for poor quality products in the future. Today’s machines and technology have the first and last word in this industry, and most of the current manufacturers who are producing with old and traditional methods must adapt themselves to today’s technology, otherwise they will be out of business. Training of human resources is also very important for this industry.
These days, people are very careful in their purchases and focus on the issue of quality very closely, and this is because of the rising cost of living.
How do you see the outlook of the country’s garment industry?
Если предотвратить ввоз контрабандной одежды или установить экспертный тариф на ее ввоз, это не повлияет на отечественных производителей.
In this industry, we have good experts and human resources who even work 12 hours a day if there is work. Except China, India and Pakistan, we do not see these efficient human forces compared to other countries.
Is there a need for foreign investors in jacket production?
The presence of brands will definitely create competition and other domestic producers will be forced to use new technology and better machines. On the other hand, they also focus on the specialized training of their workforce.
With these interpretations, can Iran’s textile and clothing industry meet all the needs of the domestic market? And what factors can guarantee this?
Yes. The clothing industry is a big industry. Our collection, as an industrial jacket producer (in high circulation), if the government provides the necessary support, we can meet all the needs of the domestic market.
I guarantee that we will work 12 months a year in three shifts and not have any problems with holidays. Of course, marginal problems such as currency fluctuations and unpredictable events are very important.
If something is missing, please explain.
Thank you for taking the time to arrange this conversation, I hope it will turn out well. I expect those who are reading this interview to help production groups like this industrial unit to fix the weakness and problems of the country’s clothing production and to bring the quality of production to the desired level and export.
